Theodor Seuss Geisel Was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904.
Theodor Suess, known to his millions of fans as Dr. Seuss, wrote and illustrated forty-four books. Forever changing the face of children's literature.
Long considered a national treasure, Dr. Seuss was awarded a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 1984. He received virtually every children's book award, including the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award and three Caldecott Honors. In addition he received two Emmy's and a Peabody Award.
In honor of one of my long time favorite authors, not to mention a literary genius and great educator of children, my son's school, Manzanita Elementary has dedicated today Dr. Seuss Day.
Everyone was invited to dress as there favorite Dr. Seuss Characters in honor of the late great one and only Dr. Seuss.
Here is my sweet little Ralphie dressed and ready for a day of Dr. Seuss fun as one of his favorite characters, "The cat In The Hat"
My Little Guy!
And of course my sweet little Rivers had to join in the dress up fun
I also want to wish a very special Happy Birthday to my sweetheart of a husband who shares this special birthday with the great Dr. Seuss
His birth year being shared with one of my all time favorite Dr Seuss reads, The Lorax, which was first published in 1971.
